Every bookmaker experience starts with the sign-up process, so it’s vital that bookies make it as quick and easy as possible for new customers to make an account. At BT10AU, we’ve gone ahead and signed up to both of these bookmakers, and this is what we thought about the respective processes.
Bet365: Like most things on the Bet365 website, creating an account is super easy. All you need to do is click on the ‘Join’ button in the upper righthand corner of the home page, fill in the relevant details and you’re ready to go. From start to finish you can get this done within a couple of minutes.
Unibet: It’s also relatively straightforward to open an account with Unibet. You won’t miss the big ‘Join’ panel in the top part of the screen, and like with Bet365 you simply click on this and go through the relevant steps. The site is a little bit slower, however, meaning it will take slightly longer to get signed up, but overall it’s a pretty straightforward process.
Both of these websites make it fairly easy to make an account, and few people will be turning their attention to a different bookmaker because of a difficult sign-up process. It’s Bet365, however, who gets the slight nod, courtesy of the fact that the website loads a little quicker, making this process a touch more streamlined.

There are certain features which can help one bookmaker separate itself from a similarly rated competitor, and in this section of the review we’re going to take a look at the ways in which Bet365 and Unibet attempt to do this.
Bet365: One great added feature of Bet365 is the existence of the Bet365 Mastercard, which offers a unique way for customers to both deposit and withdraw on the platform. Using this you can withdraw winnings from your account straight to this card, and then access the winnings immediately via an ATM, reducing the waiting time usually associated with withdrawals.
Unibet: The Unibet blog is a really nice addition to the bookmaker. Easily accessible from the home page of the website, the blog is a much more interesting read than many may anticipate and provides interesting information about a range of past and present sports and racing events.
Both of these are unique and valuable additional features, and which you prefer probably depends a little on your preferences. The Bet365 Mastercard is certainly useful but for the most part people will stick to the standard options like credit/debit card, so we’re going to give Unibet the edge here.

It’s perhaps obvious to say, but the range of different sports which are covered by a bookmaker is a hugely important part of their service, and is something which can really separate the best from the rest. Having the ability to find all the sports and leagues you need, as well as lots of markets on them, can be a major factor in whether punters choose to use a certain bookie.
Bet365: One of the best features of Bet365 is the wide range of markets that their customers have at their disposal. All the major sports and leagues are here and have a massive range of markets, but you’ll also be able to find a lot of more obscure betting options, ideal for those who like to dig deep to find value.
Unibet: Unibet also performs extremely well in this area, offering a great selection of markets on all sorts of sports. It’s rare that you won’t be able to find a sport or league that you’re after when punting with Unibet, so they too score highly in terms of their coverage of different sports.
While both Bet365 and Unibet have a good selection of betting markets, the former takes the cake as the better choice here. They have a slightly wider selection of leagues to bet on, and importantly also offer a better range of markets in major sports, with things like player props a feature of the site.

Betting odds are, of course, the name of the game, and finding the best odds every time you place a bet can help to remove the edge that bookmakers invariably have. We took a look at both of these bookies to determine which of them performs better in this area.
Bet365: It’s hard for any bookmaker to compete with Bet365 when it comes to odds. They are renowned for having some of the best in the business, and often their margins are significantly lower than most competitors, meaning the odds that you’ll get on most markets are much fairer than they might be elsewhere.
Unibet: Unibet is also renowned for great odds, and on many major markets they have arguably the best odds in the industry. They slip slightly when looking at the more obscure markets, as do many betting agencies, but overall they can hold their heads high with regards to the betting odds they offer.
As mentioned, it’s difficult for any bookmaker to hold a candle to Bet365 in terms of odds, but if anyone can it’s Unibet. On many major markets you’ll find that these are two of the leading players, offering odds as good, if not better, as virtually all competitors. However, Bet365’s consistency and ability to offer good odds on even the most uncommon markets makes them a slight leader here.

Live betting is an increasingly popular way to place bets in Australia, with the ability to watch the beginning of an event unfold hugely appealing to many punters. Both these agencies offer it, but which of them has a better live betting platform?
Bet365: The range of markets offered by Bet365 for live betting is very impressive, and they enable you to put bets on after the start of more events than most other platforms. As with every bookie in Australia you do have to call up to bet, and one flaw of Bet365’s platform is that it can be a little slow and arduous to go through that process, and with odds rapidly fluctuating you sometimes might not get those which you initially targeted.
Unibet: Unibet also offers a solid live betting platform, though the range of markets that they offer is not necessarily as comprehensive as some of their competitors. Calling up to place a bet is reasonably easy though, and overall they perform fairly well in this area.
Neither Ber365 nor Unibet is perfect in their live streaming service – the former could benefit from a quicker process upon calling to place a bet while the latter could use more live betting markets. However, if the market you want is not available then you won’t even get to the calling stage, so once again it’s Bet365 who get over the line here.
|More and more betting agencies are purchasing streaming rights to certain events, making for a better experience for the punter. Now, often you can place your bet and then watch it unfold on the same website, and both of these websites offer a good range of streaming options.
Bet365: Bet365 performs really well in this area. They have the rights to a huge range of different sports and racing events, from unusual second-tier ones through to much more popular events which usually stay away from betting agencies.
Unibet: Like Bet365, Unibet has a great live streaming platform. They offer all sorts of different sports, including NBA games, soccer and some tennis tournaments, so if you’re betting on any of these with Unibet you can watch your bet play out directly on the Unibet website.
This one was hard to split. Both have a really quality range of live streaming options, but Bet365 has just a few more options to choose from. That’s not a knock on Unibet, and they perform very well here too, but they just fall short of Bet365.
|If a betting agency doesn’t have a decent mobile app, they put themselves at a major disadvantage. So many punters want the ability to easily place a bet while they’re on the go, and many even choose to use apps rather than websites even when they have the choice of both, so good are some bookmaker mobile apps.
Bet365: Bet365 is one example of what was mentioned above. Their betting app is elite. It’s streamlined, has all of the things that you can access on the website, and generally loads very quickly. One drawback is that very occasionally, pop ups of betting markets don’t load properly and cause the app to crash, but aside from these rare occasions it functions perfectly.
Unibet: Unibet also have a good app, and it is available for both iOS and Android devices. It’s quite a good app and at times can load even quicker than the website, but like the Unibet site it’s not always as quick to use as some competitors and does have a tendency to lag.
In what is becoming a one-sided race, once again it’s Bet365 getting the chocolates here. The only issue with their app is the occasional crash, but this is a fairly rare occurrence and aside from that it’s hard to find a criticism. The Unibet app, on the other hand, is a little less user-friendly, and they fall a bit short of Bet365 here.

It’s important that bookmakers have sufficient payment methods to make it easy for their customers to deposit and withdraw their cash. Generally, the same handful of options are offered, and this should be enough to keep most happy.
Bet365: Bet365 offers all of the major payment options as well as a few others, so it’s unlikely that many customers will be unable to find a suitable choice for them. The most common are credit/debit card, PayPal and bank transfer, but there are also heaps of others, including paysafecard, POLi, ApplePay and more.
Unibet: Similarly, Unibet offers more than enough deposit and withdrawal methods to keep the regular punter happy. Again, most will opt to use credit/debit card, POLi or bank transfer, but there are also a whole host of other options which are highlighted in the table below.

This one is tight, with both of these bookies offering the standard payment methods as well as a wide range of others. However, finally Unibet are going to get back on the board, with the choice of payment options that they offer customers just edging out those offered by Bet365.

It’s not unusual to find yourself in a situation where you need to directly contact your bookmaker, and the ability to access a helpful customer service representative is an important feature of any bookie.
Bet365: Bet365’s customer support section is, in general, fairly well-conceived. They offer live chat and a phone number which are available 24/7, something which is very useful for those late night punters, while you can also send a web or email message. They could improve by making the contact us section a little more obvious on the home page, but overall they perform well here.
Unibet: Unibet also offers a good range of customer service options, with live chat and calling up once again the most popular options. They also have an email address where you can send them a message, or you can even get through to them via post if that’s the way you like to do things.
Both of these two bookmakers offer similar customer service options, but Bet365 performs better courtesy of the fact that live chat and phone – the two easiest ways to contact them – are available 24/7. In contrast, Unibet is accessible from 9am-2am, which, while enough for most punters, leaves them falling just short of Bet365.
|All of the above factors as well as a handful combine to make up the overall user experience. Basically, this refers to how straightforward, streamlined and simple it is to do what you need to do with this bookmaker is.
Bet365: The user experience with Bet365 is one of the best in the business in our opinion. Obviously they perform well at many of the above factors, while arguably their best feature is their fantastic, intuitive website, which makes it so easy to access whatever it is that you need to find when punting with them.
Unibet: Unibet is a quality bookmaker, and though they’ve fallen short of 365 in a number of aspects of this review they are still a great choice for punters. However, one element of the bookmaker that can be frustrating is the fact that the website can have a tendency to lag and be a little slow, which can certainly detract from the overall user experience.
Bet365 wins this one reasonably comfortably. While they are both great bookmakers, the quality of the Bet365 website ensures that they provide a much better user experience. In contrast, Unibet could benefit from developing a website which loads a little faster and allows punters to get where they need to go faster.
