Each Way Betting 10Cric - World Cup 2019 Winner

An each-way bet has two parts – the winner bet and the place bet. If your team finishes 1st or 2nd, your place bet returns 1/3 times the odds of the winner bet. This is what is called an Each Way 1/3 1-2 bet and is offered by 10Cric in the World Cup 2019 Winner market.

The odds for India in this market are set at 3.25. A Rs.100 stake on India would return Rs.325 if India wins the World Cup 2019. Selecting the each-way 1/3 1-2 option doubles the cost of the bet – Rs.200 (Rs.100 on outright winner + Rs.100 on the place bet). Now, when India wins, your total returns would be Rs.325 (Outright Winnings) + Rs.175 (E/W Winnings) = Rs.500.

And if India loses in the finals, the outright bet loses, while your place bet will return Rs.175. And if India doesn’t make it to the finals, your total stake will be lost. Another example is Australia with 4.30 odds in the outrights market. A Rs.200 cost each-way bet will return Rs.640 if Australia wins and if they finish 1st or 2nd place, the E/W winnings will return Rs.210

What Are The ICC World Cup 2019 ODI Predictions?

The interim period between two Cricket World Cups has always been used by different sides into building a team for the next event. While some teams have failed to match up to their standards over the last four years others have taken giant strides. Naturally 2019 World Cup ODI predictions are often based on the performances of the sides in the interim period and here we look at how the sides have fared in the Quadrennial event over the years and especially their performances in the last four years.

Australia

Australia World CupThe reigning champions and also the most successful team in World Cup’s history they have taken part in all the 10 previous editions of the World Cup. They have won the tournament maximum 5 times (1987, 1999, 2003, 2007 and 2015). But the team has been struggling in the recent years since the last World Cup. In the interim period they have a W/L record of 1.027 which surely would be lowest in recent years for the side that has dominated ODI cricket for the past two decades.

Australia Squad SWOT Analysis

Squad – Aaron Finch (captain), Usman Khawaja, David Warner, Steve Smith, Shaun Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Alex Carey, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Jhye Richardson, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Jason Behrendorff, Nathan Lyon, Adam Zampa

Strengths – The return of David Warner and Steven Smith adds much needed strength to the batting. The side has suffered lot over the last two years due to their absence. Pat Cummins and Adam Zampa have been bowling well this year and this adds to the strength of the side. The greatest strength for the team would be its ability to perform on the big stage. They don’t succumb under pressure and their record at the tournament over the years bears testimony to this fact.

Weaknesses – The team has struggled over the last couple of years in terms of its batting order. Though Smith and Warner’s return is being looked up to by the fans the two players would carry the scar of the ball tempering incident. With both the players not having played international cricket for over a year they may not be able to deliver the goods and cause worry for the side. Also the bowling attack that Aussies have picked is one of the least experienced ever to play in the World Cup.

Opportunities – While they are one of the favourites to win the tournament they don’t start as outright favourites as has been the case over the last two decades. This may be a blessing in disguise for the side that has struggled in ODIs over the last few years. They can gain their momentum and given their strength of performing under pressure they would fancy defending their title successfully.

Threats – There have been some rumours that some players in the dressing room aren’t too happy seeing David Warner back in the side. With two of their leading players returning after serving one year bans due to ball tempering the dressing room atmosphere may not be all that healthy and on a big stage that might affect the performance of the side.

Afghanistan

Afghanistan World Cup 2019This will be the second appearance for the Afghan side in the World Cup. They debuted in the 2015 edition of the tournament and won a solitary game against Scotland. But this team has taken large strides ever since the tournament and has regularly given a tough fight to their opponents. They have an impressive W/L record of 1.333 which is better than many sides but most of their victories have come against ICC’s Associate members.

Afghanistan Squad SWOT Analysis

Squad – Gulbadin Naib (Captain), Mohammad Shahzad (wk), Noor Ali Zadran, Hazratullah Zazai, Rahmat Shah, Asghar Afghan, Hashmatullah Shahidi, Najibullah Zadran, Samiullah Shinwari, Mohammad Nabi, Rashid Khan, Dawlat Zadran, Aftab Alam, Hamid Hassan, Mujeeb Ur Rahman.
Strengths – It is without any doubt their army of spinners which can destroy any opposition. The pitches in England are expected to be dry during the World Cup and the spinners would work their magic out. Rashid Khan needs no introduction and he has been working his magic around the world. Mujeeb ur Rahman and the experienced Mohammad Nabi make it a strong bowling attack. The fast bowling resources are not bad either with Dawlat Zardan and Hamid Hassan in the side
Weaknesses – There are two weak areas for the side – first their inexperience and secondly their batting. While there are hard hitting players and bunch of all-rounders the sides has been plagued by the problem of inconsistency among its batsmen. The top order has not been able to play according to the demands of the occasion in the recent times. The pitches in England would put their top order through test and this is where they have the weakest point in their squad.
Opportunities – Afghan players are a relatively unknown bunch of individuals for most of the bigger sides in the tournament who haven’t played them on a regular basis. The team has surprised some of the best sides in the recent years boasting of a good bowling attack. On their day with conditions conducive to their style of play they can surprise anybody. The lack of expectations on their shoulders would let them play more freely compared to some of the other teams and this might work to their advantage.
Threats – Asghar Afghan being stripped from captaincy and being replaced by Gulbadin Naib right before the announcement of the squad didn’t go well with some of the senior players in the side. The public outburst by these players has showed that all may not be well in the Afghan camp. The side is surely the most inexperienced in terms of playing against the bigger oppositions and if there is some friction in the camp it might bring their downfall in the tournament.

Bangladesh

Bangladesh World CupThis will be the 6th appearance for the Bangladeshi side in the World Cup ever since their debut in 1999 World Cup. Though the team has been out in the group stages in most editions they surprised everyone making it to the Quarterfinals in the last edition ahead of teams such as England. Since the last tournament the team has made considerable progress in ODI cricket with a W/L record of 1.20 and have defeated stronger oppositions in all playing conditions.

Bangladesh Squad SWOT Analysis

Squad – Mashrafe Mortaza (captain), Tamim Iqbal, Liton Das, Soumya Sarkar, Mushfiqur Rahim (wk), Mahmudullah, Shakib Al Hasan (vice-captain), Mohammad Mithun, Sabbir Rahaman, Mosaddek Hossain, Mohammad Saifuddin, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Rubel Hossain, Mustafizur Rahman, Abu Jayed
Strengths – The side draws its strength from its top order where Tamin Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim, Shakib Al Hasan, Liton Das have done well against all opponents. The side bats deep and is full of all-rounders offering many options for the captain to exercise in games that don’t go according to the plan. The side has beaten top teams regularly in the last four years in all playing conditions. Most of their players have done well in England and this will add to the strength of the side.
Weaknesses – For everything that Bangladesh have achieved in the last four years they still don’t have claim to a big tournament title. They have failed in crucial games and this has been their undoing on many occasions. On a stage as big as this experience of past wins counts a lot. When they are up against big sides in must-win games their lack of experiences in winning such games may serve as a huge weakness.
Opportunities – This is the first World Cup since their debut in 1999 that the Bangladeshi team won’t go in with the minnows tag. While they may not be one of the title contenders they can definitely surprise the rest of the teams. They made it to the semi-finals of the Champions Trophy in 2017 which was held in England. The bunch of all-rounders and utility cricketers can help them upset the bigger sides.
Threats – Bangladeshi team has become victim of overenthusiasm in the past. They have lost games aiming for heroics understandable for a side that has always played with the minnows tag. Their players have often treated match wins with the same fervour as title wins which can halt their progress in a long tournament. They tend to play for their supporters at times and need to learn the art of shutting everything beyond the rope if they are to perform on a world stage.

England

England World Cup Cricket 2019Finalists in 1979, 1987 and 1992, England has participated in all the editions of the ICC World Cup. Despite having hosted the event four times the English side has never been able to live up to the expectations of its fans and their group stage exit in the last event lead to complete overhaul of their ODI setup. This will be the first time that the hosts would go into the event as tournament favourites. Their W/L record of 2.304 since that event is the best in the world and they have constantly beaten the top sides in the interim period.

England Squad SWOT Analysis

Squad – Eoin Morgan (Captain) Jonny Bairstow, Jason Roy, Joe Root, Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, Moeen Ali, Chris Woakes, Liam Plunkett, Adil Rashid, Mark Wood, Alex Hales, Tom Curran, Joe Denly, David Willey
Strengths – In all of its history in the World Cups this is the strongest English side that would participate in the tournament. From the lows of the last edition the team has restructured itself and has been the most successful team in ODIs in the last four years. The power packed top order of Jonny Bairstow, Alex Hales, Joe Root and Eoin Morgan have been hammering bowlers in all conditions and form the greatest strength for the side.
Weaknesses – The weak link in the side is its bowling. While they have set up big scores over the last two years they have also conceded big totals on a regular basis. Liam Plunkett, Mark Wood and Ben Stokes aren’t the best bowlers in ODI cricket and their one dimensional attack can cost them crucial games in the tournament. The side doesn’t have a good death bowler which can hurt it when they take on strong batting line-ups in the tournament.
Opportunities – They are playing at home and are familiar with the conditions and would enjoy crowd support in every game. What would serve the team well is their long batting line-up as the side bats deep till the No. 9 slot which will come handy during the tournament. The presence of good all-rounders such as Curran and Stokes adds to the arsenal of the side and they have more options to explore compared to many sides that are playing with specialists.
Threats – Since their appearance in the 1992 World Cup final they have barely managed to advance beyond the early stages of the tournament. All they can boast about is quarter final appearances in 1996 and 2011 which summarises their performance in the big stage as they have always had access to the best of infrastructure and coaching. They have a history of underperforming at this event and while history doesn’t dictate performance in a game it can’t completely be brushed aside either.

India

India ODI World CupWinners of the 1983 and 2011 edition of the tournament and finalists of 2003 they would be going into this event as one of the contenders for the title. They have played in all the previous editions and were unbeaten in the last event till they were knocked out during the Semi-finals. The side has done exceedingly well in the interim period and enjoys the second best W/L record of 2.074 which definitely pits them as one of the pre-tournament favourites.

India Squad SWOT Analysis

Squad – Virat Kohli (Captain), Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Kedar Jadhav, Vijay Shankar, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Lokesh Rahul, MS Dhoni, Dinesh Karthik, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar
Strengths – Without any doubt it is the Indian Top 3 that makes them a formidable side. Rohit Sharma and Shikhar have great record in England and Virat Kohli is in the form of his life at the moment. MS Dhoni’s return to form also strengthens the lower order for the side. Jasprit Bumrah has emerged as a great death bowler and the two wrist spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal have been troubling batsmen in all kinds of conditions over the last two years.
Weaknesses – It is the Indian middle order which is the weakest link for the side. Lokesh Rahul returns to the side based on his IPL performance alone and has struggled last season on the international scene. While MS Dhoni has started the year well he is definitely past his prime in terms of being the best finisher in the world. If the Top 3 doesn’t fire the team doesn’t have the needed strength in its middle and lower middle order to bounce back as we have seen over the last two years.
Opportunities – Most of the Indian players have done well on English soil in limited overs cricket over the years. They had done well in the Champions Trophy in 2017 and also during their last tour. The English playing conditions where the ball comes onto the bat suits the side and having a fast bowling all-rounder would help their cause. They would also draw leverage from the huge fan base that they have and play in home-like conditions during the tournament.
Threats – Indian selectors have taken a huge risk in picking up youngster Vijay Shankar who has barely played a few games for the side. Dinesh Karthik too hasn’t been a part of the ODI squad regularly and with the expectations high on them the chances of these two buckling under pressure remains high. Also Mohammad Shami and Bhuvneshwar Kumar are injury prone and absence of a fast bowling option beyond Hardik Pandya can cause bit of worry for the side.

New Zealand

New Zealand Cricket World CupFinalists in the 2015 edition of the tournament has been the best performance for New Zealand over the years, a side which has participated in all the editions of the event. They have consistently made it to the knock out stages of the tournament but have succumbed to the pressure. At the moment they are one of the best ODI sides in the world and since the last edition have enjoyed a healthy W/L record of 1.433

New Zealand Squad SWOT Analysis

Squad – Kane Williamson (capt), Tom Blundell, Trent Boult, Colin de Grandhomme, Lockie Ferguson, Martin Guptill, Matt Henry, Tom Latham, Colin Munro, Jimmy Neesham, Henry Nicholls, Mitchell Santner, Ish Sodhi, Tim Southee, Ross Taylor

Strengths – Without an inch of doubt it is the batting line-up. This is perhaps the best batting unit to represent New Zealand since the 1992 World Cup. Martin Guptill, Kane Williamson, Ross Taylor are in great touch at the moment. Apart from these three the likes of Colin Munro, Henry Nicholls and Tom Latham can also take on any bowling attack on their day. Jimmy Neesham’s hitting abilities would come into good effect toward the end of an innings.
Weaknesses – The biggest weakness for the Kiwis would be their bowling attack going into this tournament. In Trent Boult and Tim Southee they have one of the best opening bowling but beyond that the side doesn’t have much to rely on. Lockie Ferguson has pace but that’s all he has. Matt Henry and Ish Sodhi are yet to become a threatening proposition and the kind of bargain Mitchell Santner gets from those soft English wickets remains to be seen.
Opportunities – They don’t start the tournament as title contenders and have always in the past been one of the dark horses. This is an opportunity for the side to shock some of the better teams in the tournament. Their batting line-up can put up huge scores on the board without much of a warning on its day and with good support from the bowlers they can defeat any opponent.
Threats – The team would have to guard itself against the habit of succumbing to pressure at crunch stages of the tournament. They have never won a World Cup in the past though they had made it to the finals in the last edition and lost out a one-sided game. Twice in 1992 and 1999 they buckled under pressure in the semis and will have to avoid that.

Pakistan

Pakistan Flag World Cup 2019The title winners of 1992 and finalists in 1999 edition they have always been termed as the ‘dark horse’ in this event and regularly made it to the knockout stages of the tournament. The side has suffered from the problem of inconsistency at the crunch stages of the tournament over the last many editions. This would be one of the weakest teams to take part in the event and their W/L record of 0.921 over the last four years tells a lot about the form the side is in.

Pakistan Squad SWOT Analysis

Squad – Sarfraz Ahmed (Captain), Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq, Abid Ali, Babar Azam, Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Hafeez, Shadab Khan, Imad Wasim, Haris Sohail, Hasan Ali, Faheem Ashraf, Shaheen Afridi, Junaid Khan, Mohammad Hasnain
Strengths – The strength for the Pakistani side is its batting. Imam-ul-Haq and Babar Azam have scored runs against all opponents in the past few years. In the middle order they have great experience in the likes of Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Hafeez. These players will play in England just before the World Cup and this will give them the perfect opportunity to acclimatize with the wickets and start on a strong note.
Weaknesses – Mohammad Hasnain’s selection over the experienced Mohammad Amir has raised many eyebrows. The young lad has played only three games in his career so far and it might be too much of ask for him. The Pakistani bowling attack looks weak at the moment. The side has always gone into this tournament with legendary fast bowlers but the same can’t be said about this side. The batting line up though exciting has problem in the opener’s slot with Fakhar Zaman not being the most consistent performer in the world.
Opportunities – They won the tournament the last time it was played in the same format back in 1992. For a team which is known to be slow starters the long league structure would suit them. Also in England the side would enjoy plenty of crowd support from the expat community. Since they are nowhere near being favourites that might have the opportunity to repeat the success of Champions Trophy 2017 where they started as underdogs and went on to win it.
Threats – Pakistan have gone into several World Cups in the past as one of the most exciting sides in the tournament and have blown it up with poor performances in crucial games. 2003, 2011 and 2015 World Cups are shining examples. The team will have to overcome its habit of playing school boyish cricket at crucial phases of the tournament. The team also has suffered from poor chemistry between different players and camps their captain isn’t the most popular man in the squad.

South Africa

South Africa World Cup PredictionsSince their debut in the 1992 edition of the event they have carried the tag of being perennial chokers when it comes to ICC Cricket World Cup. Otherwise one of the best ODI sides in the world they have constantly succumbed to pressure and never gone beyond the Semi-finals of the tournament. Their shocking exit in the Quarterfinal of the last edition summarises their performance in the tournament. Their W/L record of 1.807 since the last event is one of the best in the world but that has been the story for South Africa over the last two and half decades.

South Africa Squad SWOT Analysis

Squad – Faf du Plessis (captain), Quinton de Kock, Hashim Amla, David Miller, JP Duminy, Aiden Markram, Rassie van der Dussen, Dwaine Pretorius, Andile Phehlukwayo, Kagiso Rabada, Dale Steyn, Lungi Ngidi, Anrich Nortje, Imran Tahir, Tabraiz Shamsi.
Strengths – The bowling line-up of Kagiso Rabada, Dale Steyn and Lungi Ngidi can tear though any opposition line-up making the South African fast bowling attack perhaps the best in the tournament. Andile Phehlukwayo will enjoy bowling in these conditions and get the ball to move around. The magician Imran Tahir adds variety to this bowling attack and it will be difficult for any opposition to score big runs against this attack.
Weaknesses – South Africa are a top heavy batting line-up and it is in the middle order that the side has its biggest weakness. JP Duminy isn’t in the best of form and David Miller suffers from the problem of inconsistency. Playing Hashim Amla at the top also comes with great risk for the side as the legend looks well past his prime at the moment.
Opportunities – In terms of star power this squad doesn’t have the likes of de Villiers, Kallis, Donald, Cronje and their likes. They have always started previous tournaments being one of the top three sides in the world. It isn’t the case this time and this would give them the opportunity to stay below the radar and perform. Also the knock out stage of the tournament is short (just two games) and this might just be the format a side that has choked needs.
Threats – ‘Chokers’, the side has carried this tag for too long and it has been for a reason as they have always succumbed to pressure. The problem with such a track record is that it can get inside the heads of the players and create the mental block ahead of crucial games. If the side does make it to the semis it would have to fight more with itself than with the opponents. This is surely the biggest threat the side faces.

Sri Lanka

SriLanka World CupChampions in 1996 and finalists in 2007 and 2011, the present side is in tatters. Since the last World Cup they have been struggling to find a core group of players with the side’s captaincy having changed hands as many as 9 times in four years between five players. They have a dismal W/L record of 0.418 since the end of the last Cricket World Cup which has been their lowest in the last two decades. This is the lowest among all the side participating in the tournament.

Sri Lanka Squad SWOT Analysis

Squad – Dimuth Karunaratne (Captain), Avishka Fernando, Suranga Lakmal, Lasith Malinga, Angelo Mathews, Jeevan Mendis, Kusal Mendis (wk), Kusal Perera (wk), Thisara Perera, Nuwan Pradeep, Dhananjaya de Silva, Milinda Siriwardana, Lahiru Thirimanne, Isuru Udana, Jeffrey Vandersay.
Strengths – There isn’t much of strength in the side to talk about at the moment. They will need to depend on their star players like Lasith Malinga, Thisara Perera and Angelo Mathews to do well in the tournament. They have been veterans of many battles and would be looking forwards to leading a young side from the front and do well in the tournament.
Weaknesses – It is the weakest Lankan team that would take the field since the 1992 World Cup. It is a relatively inexperienced squad and in a big tournament like this they might easily succumb to pressure. Five of the least experienced players in the squad have played less than 100 ODIs between them with two of them have Isuru Udana, Avishka Fernando and Jefferey Vandersay having played only 21 games between them. This might cost them high during the tournament.
Opportunities – There isn’t much expectation from the side going into this tournament and this might serve as the biggest opportunity for it. The team would be able to take on every game as it comes without having to fear for the consequences. This will give them more freedom to express themselves in comparison to the other sides and in a long tournament and this might give them the breathing space they need.
Threats – Sri Lanka’s team selection has raised many eyebrows given the kind of inexperienced team they have picked Dimuth Karunaratne comes in as skipper having not played ODI cricket for four years. This summarises the kind of condition the side is in at the moment where for the past two years the side had done little to take pride. It also points to the fact that there is going to be lack of chemistry between the players on such a big stage.

West Indies

West Indies Predictions World Cup 2019Once the powerhouse of world cricket the West Indian team has participated in all the previous editions of the Cricket World Cup. They won the tournament in 1975 and 1979 and were finalists in 1983. Since the start of the new millennia they have witnessed a downslide and qualified for this edition earning last-minute entry through the 2018 Cricket World Cup Qualifier. Though their W/L record of 0.418 during the last four years is among the lowest but the team has been doing well in the last few months.
