It was a game worth watching as the Sydney Sixers successfully defended their BBL title defeating the Perth Scorchers by 27 runs in the 10th Edition of the tournament. Batting first the Sixers made 188 runs on a good batting surface at the Sydney Cricket Ground riding on an entertaining knock of 95 by James Vince. This was always going to be an uphill task for the Scorchers in a high-pressure contest but they looked good with their chase with their openers playing well. But a middle-order collapse ended their hopes. For Sydney Sixers, it was reliving their moment from last year where they had won the title at the same venue. In the process, they became the joint-most successful team in the tournament’s history with three titles.
